Plank, Frankfurt am Main

 

A measurement is arbitrary and full of errors: it depends on the system, on the instrument, on the observer and on a series of unpredictable events that could happen. Considering the possibility that making errors could move people and spaces we decided to measure the event Soft Romance at Plank on Saturday, August 4th. With a sketchbook and a tape measure we carefully checked the whole place including some ephemeral elements.

The outcome measures include a margin of error, an undefined space enable to keep a degree of freedom for imagination.

 

 

 

 

 

Plank is a bar located in the main station district of Frankfurt am Main. It was opened in 2010 by the dj Ata and it take his name from Conny Plank, german record producer and pioneer of electronic music. It is one of the best spot of Frankfurt life.
 
Vytautas Jurevicius is a lithuanian artist and dj who lives in Frankfurt. He has held numerous shows in Germany and around Europe. He uses to organize events where he creates fascinating atmosphere, mixing performance, music and installation.
 
Calori & Maillard is a french-italian duo based in Frankfurt am Main. Their research plays with the thin boundary between art and life through an ironic, poetic and visionary way. They work together since 2009.
